Why is vitamin A important during pregnancy?

Vitamin A is important to support proper development of the unborn baby. Furthermore, vitamin A is important for vision, the formation of strong bones and teeth and healthy skin. In pregnancy, the need for vitamin A increased by 25% and even over 50% with breastfeeding. On average, pregnant women get slightly less vitamin A in the Netherlands. This includes the contribution of beta-carotene to the intake of vitamin A. The following applies: 6 mg beta-carotene corresponds to 1 mg vitamin A. Vitamin A is in the form of beta-carotene in  Davitamon Complete Mama. The body can produce vitamin A from beta-carotene. It is, therefore, a favorable form of vitamin A, because very large amounts of vitamin A (more than 3000 micrograms) can be harmful in pregnancy. Folic acid is known to reduce the intake for about 95% of adult women compared to the usual recommended amount (300 micrograms per day). During the entire pregnancy and lactation period the reference intake has been increased to 400 micrograms per day. Vitamin B complex is important for the production of energy, it stimulates the metabolism and is important for the nervous system. The vitamin B complex includes vitamin B 1, B 2, B 3, B 5, B 6, B 12 and folic acid (B 11 ). B vitamins are supplied by bread, potatoes, meat, dairy, and vegetables. In pregnancy, the need for vitamin C increased from 70 to 90 mg per day. You need 110 mg of vitamin C every day during breastfeeding. On average, pregnant women in the Netherlands receive enough vitamin C.

Vitamin C you need for your resistance and it promotes the absorption of iron. Fruits, vegetables and potatoes contain vitamin C. During pregnancy, the recommended amount of vitamin D is increased. The good fish oil is a triglyceride oil that has undergone an additional purification step with respect to an ethylestrenol oil, which promotes absorption and prevents regurgitation.
